I do too. Even if it is in a gallon ziploc bag stuffed in my purse and the needle is in my pocket. Something is with me all the time!

You would be surprised how much you can accomplish while waiting for one of the kids to finish practice...

Me too!

Sunny Dawn ~ Thank you ~ but I have to say, the knitting in those 2 pics is actually from my knitting machine. And sadly, even with machine knitting, I spend a lot of time "ripit, ripit, rippit-ing". :-D

I also carry a plastic ziploc baggy with me everywhere!! lol, lol~ in fact, my kids know ~ when we get ready to go somewhere, my kids say "Mom, did you get your yarn stuff?" Several of my kids do knit & crochet, & I am even seeing them carry projects with them as well, especially on long car rides, but unfortunately, they are still disturbed by my ~Stash~. lol ~ just wait till they finally start ~NEEDING~ yarn for this this that & the other projects, ~ THEN they'll see the beauty of a stash! ;-D

Everyone gets a real kick out of my students. Whether we are walking through the building going to the restroom, or going to lunch or library,,, most of them have balls of yarn hanging out of jacket pockets and are either madly crocheting while they walk or stand, or rolling their yarn into balls. Now with Spring here I don't know what they will put their yarn in lol. Most of the girls have boys following them holding their yarn for them while they crochet, and the boys just have their yarn tucked under their arms.

I know what you mean about a stash. I have a big tote beside my chair with all the yarn on end in it so I can see what I have. I run out of a certain color and I go buy more. When the skeins gets small enough to roll in a ball I have another tote for them. My DH is always asking me when I'm going to use up all the yarn. I get a lot of yarn at yard sales. It's surprising how many people have left over yarn that they'll not use up in another project. A long time ago I bought balls of yarn at a yard sale and I've used those balls many times in my afghans. I finally got down to the last of this one ball and found a $5 bill folded up inside. I've always wondered what the story was behind it.

I just love that idea ( I am thinking the money was to buy more once the yarn was used up) I think I am going to start putting money in all my balls of yarn so I will be even more inspired to hurry up and use it so I can get the money out and got buy more yarn! LOL If I put money in every single ball of yarn I own I would have a fortune since I have 3 really big plastic boxes FULL of yarn.

My girls are making wrist warmers,, they look like socks for your arms with holes for your thumbs to stick out of! One of the girls saw them at a store for $15 and they take less than half a skein of regular yarn for a pair!

that was my thought too, about having the money to buy more when that was used up. I think I got a stash at a yard sale of wound balls but that was the only one with money in it.

Or, maybe it was wound by someone that couldn't start a ball without having something to wrap it onto at first and all they had available was a 5$ bill?

I have too much time on my hands it seems.

Hey Gals!

This has nothing to do with crocheting but I have to share this with you. Something happened this morning that really made my day. It has naver happened to me before either. I went to town this morning for my usual Friday shopping day. I always treat myself to a sausage biscuit and a coke at McDonalds. As I was turning to go into the drive thru there was a lady trying to come in off the main blvd. so I signaled her to go ahead of me to get her off the busy street. She waved an acknowledgement and went before me. When I got up to the window to pick up my breakfast, the girls at the window said she couldn't take my money as it had already been paid for. I looked at her and she said that the lady ahead of me paid for my breakfast to thank me for letting her in ahead of me. Wow! was that a nice surprise. I never expected anyone to do something like that but it sure made my day. Thank for letting me share this with you.
