What a lovely story! Thank you for sharing that with us.
WriterofWords I've seen those before too and they are very cute. It's so cold here in Reno right now I've had to drag out my winter hats, scarves and gloves.
ohh ~ I finally got a few minutes to myself today, and put the finishing touches on it ~ it's DONE! This little 3 to 6 months baby kimono was from one of those lovely Japanese Crochet diagram books ~ It's amazingly fast for me to do them with the diagrams, because I don't have to figure out the whole pattern & make little notes to remeber what everything means. I don't lose my place with them, either.
Which reminds me ~ Insiderart, did you get your Japanese diagrams crochet book yet?? I am so excited to hear how you are doing with it!

Ooooo girl! I got the book at the end of this week. I am crazy covered up with photo projects right, now so I haven't had time yet to work anything out of it. I can tell though that it's going to be the bomb!! I keep thinking that crochet would be so much easier if all books were like these. The diagrams are so much easier to understand and follow! I love it!
Writer of words ~ how exciting ! My girls have made some of those, and so have I , we LOVE them ~ they are a great way to keep the hands warm while crocheting or knitting ~ ;-D
InsiderArt ~ Let me know what you think, when you get a chance ~ I am so bad, I just ordered 3 more of those books! But they are so CUTE! or should I say Kyuuuttooo!!! ;-D

Thanks! They go very fast, they can make for themselves and gifts really fast so it holds their interest. One of the girls made 5 pairs and sold them for $10 each pair at the swap meet, then had her mom run her to the store to buy more yarn lol!!
ok, this is the little baby jacket I just finished ~ another awesome, fast, easy squeazy pattern from those fantastic Japanese diagram books!!! I changed it up a bit, & used worsted weight yarn ( Caron rhapsody) & a size 6mm hook, but still made it in the 0 to 3 months size. Since it's all single crochet, it would be extremely easy to adapt to any size, really, and it makes for a nice heavy sweater.
