Thanks. I have been trying to keep the stitches loose. Some of the types of fabric are hard to do tht with.

This thread might help you. If you use the search above and type in frostbite and then change which category you want to search in (the emergency section), you'll see more threads as well! Good luck.

Greenfamilfarms (i got it right this time lol) You could try some 'agirugami' spelling little animals. Or get some thick and quik yarn and a big hook for scarves. That could take a while. Hmm. I had an isea for my grandkids. I was going to buy each a cute snowman mug at the family dollar store and some hot chocolate packets and candy and give that to them. Till my daughter said they already got some mugs. *drat* Well she buys them everything

You are too funny! Sounds like my first try at the beanie head hugger when it ended up looking more like Lil Red Riding Hood's grandma's bed cap beret looking thing instead. I yours looks just fine. I love the scarf/hat, 2 in 1 combo idea, though.

Funny funny

was at Jo Annes today and saw a scarf hanging up. They advertised a class~crochet 102 ~I asked if I could buy the pattern for the lacey scarf and they said no you have to take the class. And the class isnt till January something. And costs $40 ~ So I took a long look at the scarf and think I know how to do it. I went back in the yarn to get some angel hair and wrote down what I thought the stitches were. Then when I went to check out on the way out I took another long look at it and wrote some moe stuff down. I have been practicing at home, think I got it. I may need to take another visit to Jo Annes tomorrow.

Someone said that bag balm works better than petroleum jelly for frostbite, but you gotta rub it on every night. I had a rooster that had that. I brought him in the house and rubbed and rubbed and rubbed untill it got warm again. Then he hogged the heat lamp the rest of the winter.

Those of you with a Joann's store nearby, they have their Christmas stuff 70% off. I found a mug that says "Santa, please bring more yarn." for $1.79 after the discount. There's also a tin sign with the same thing on it.

They will have their yarns on sale starting December 30th according to their store paper.

tiki 244 good luck with the scarf. A friend took a (knitting) class and had to make a "mystery" shawl, a mystery because their was no picture of what it was to look like. It ended up beautiful, knitted lace.

Thank you for the advice on the frostbite. I'll go with vaseline because we have it. Surprisingly, the girls seem to like having their combs massaged. They're still laying, so I guess the damage isn't too bad.

We have WalMart for some yarn but anything special like baby yarn for heavens ske we have to drive 76 miles to get. We have three quilt shops. Go figure. I finished another afghan last night. Will post a picture when I get to it. Really busy with this being the last week before Christmas. My baby chicks are doing well, another photo I'll post later. I am going to start on the blocks for the Spring Granny Square swap next. That way I'll have time to make double.

I am going to JoAnnes again today to see if there is anything left. The other day I had all of the red checkered kitchen towels and a bunch of white kitchen towels with little birdies on them in my cart. All holiday (Aspiration **something) were 70% off. I asked a clerk and she said yes they are. What little gifts to give out. I get to the checkout and the WOW what a surprise. The clerk at the checkout said these are valentines Holiday (****whatname) so,,,

I had her take them all off.

sure I can laugh now. Now I have some coupons so am going back to get some for 40% off. I have already crochetted the red and white dish clothes to go with them. Just though it would be a cute thing for a little extra gift.

Merry Christmas and drive safe!
