Crochet "Chat"

I have been looking for a few cute christmas things. that santa is adorable!!!! thankyou so much for posting the link. I am so making some. now all I need is a super cute snowman magnet.
If you find a cute easy snowman let me know. The hat gave me a little trouble at first, the directions are worded funny for decreases (otherwise known to me as SC 2 TOG )and the beard part doesn't really tell you how/where to put the SC after the picot for middle and last beard rows, but I found out after a couple of tries to use the posts of white part for middle and posts of pink for the last row.

I have some old crochet magazines that have some fridgies they are form the 1980's and later would it be ok to share some of them? or would that be aginst some copy right law? i wasn't sure since they were so old.

I've stumbled onto something good. To those who are more sophisticated than I, I apologize if this is a no-brainer. Maybe it's useful to someone.

A friend gave me enough of a gorgeous variegated yarn to make an afghan. I've liked chevron afghans and never made one, so I thought I'd try. It didn't work. The pattern detracted from the yarn and the yarn detracted from the pattern. So, I decided the yarn needed straight rows. I started with single crochet and liked the horizontal sweep of colors. After five rows, I thought some variation would be interesting and switched to triple crochet. Bingo. The colors form little blocks, three to four stitches per block. The contrast to the sweep while keeping the same colors looks fabulous.

Quote:It is just the thing to make for an added little gift box topper on a wrapped gift instead of a bow. Then they can use it as an ornament too.

yes I will let you know on the snowman. I made part of the santa during my lunchbreak today. I am a truckdriver. I park everywhere at lunch time and crochet. it is so relaxing after the stress of the drive. anyway, the only part I have left is the beard. it is perfect for me that you trouble shoot the only part I have left.
