can you post the directions to make your hat? I love it!! I have a couple of roosters who hate the cold. it just might help with frostbite.

Thanks Here's the pattern. Sorry if it's a little confusing.. it's the first pattern I've ever written down.

Row 1: Ch 4, sl st in first chain.
Row 2: 6 Sc in middle of the loop you just created, sl st in first sc.
Row 3: Ch 1, 2 Sc in each of the next two stitches, 1 sc in next stitch. (2 Sc in next two stitches, 1 Sc in stitch after that) all the way around. Sl st in first Sc.
Row 4: Ch 1, 2 Sc in same stitch, 1 Sc in next stitch. (2 Sc in next stitch, 1 Sc in stitch after that) all the way around. Sl St in first Sc.
Rows 5&6: Ch 1, 1 Sc in same stitch, 1 Sc in each stitch all the way around.
Row 7: Ch 1, 2 Sc in same stitch, 2 Sc in each stitch around. Sl St in first Sc.

I only do one row for the brim (row 7), but you can make it longer by repeating row 7.

Weave a ribbon into the hat, leaving a piece of extra ribbon on each side to tie under the chicken's chin. Or use a piece of elastic sewn on.
