Crocheters Thread

I used yarn under single crochets for the first time and aimed to make this as perfect as possible and I really love how he turned out. But to be honest the yarn unders really hurt my hand, they're harder to do, don't always stay on the hook before pull through, which is extremely frustrating at times.
I think the pain is also from repetitive motion. I am right handed but I have a problem with my left hand. My left hand index finger and thumb will go completely numb/cold. My left hand controls the tension of the yarn, holds the piece I'm working on and the wrist rocks back and forth with each stich of the afghan.

On an unrelated note, what do you do to fix/prevent arm and wrist pain from crocheting? 😅
This is what I use. I have one for each hand/wrist. I bought them at Walmart for around $14 each. They are the Walmart Equate brand. They are not a hard brace, I guess I would call them a comfort brace. I like the half fingers because they keep the brace in position.

I've finally finished my Mosaic Overlay pattern afghan. After an afghan is finished I throw it in the washer/dryer, tag it, take a photo and put it away in the totes like all the others.

The name of the pattern is Diamond Back, it is approximately 71"x53". There is close to 6lbs of worsted weight yarn in it and it took a little over 4 months to finish. The pattern called for a fringe, which I don't like to do. Instead I did an envelope border which enclosed all the side yarn tails. Less tails I have to weave in!

This is the tag I put on all my afghans.
