Crocheters Thread

I used yarn under single crochets for the first time and aimed to make this as perfect as possible and I really love how he turned out. But to be honest the yarn unders really hurt my hand, they're harder to do, don't always stay on the hook before pull through, which is extremely frustrating at times.
I think the pain is also from repetitive motion. I am right handed but I have a problem with my left hand. My left hand index finger and thumb will go completely numb/cold. My left hand controls the tension of the yarn, holds the piece I'm working on and the wrist rocks back and forth with each stich of the afghan.

On an unrelated note, what do you do to fix/prevent arm and wrist pain from crocheting? 😅
This is what I use. I have one for each hand/wrist. I bought them at Walmart for around $14 each. They are the Walmart Equate brand. They are not a hard brace, I guess I would call them a comfort brace. I like the half fingers because they keep the brace in position.

I've finally finished my Mosaic Overlay pattern afghan. After an afghan is finished I throw it in the washer/dryer, tag it, take a photo and put it away in the totes like all the others.

The name of the pattern is Diamond Back, it is approximately 71"x53". There is close to 6lbs of worsted weight yarn in it and it took a little over 4 months to finish. The pattern called for a fringe, which I don't like to do. Instead I did an envelope border which enclosed all the side yarn tails. Less tails I have to weave in!

This is the tag I put on all my afghans.

WOAH! that looks absolutely amazing and my jaw dropped seeing this. I just made my first tapestry and am starting my next one. Each took (or I already spent) TWO HOURS. for a little square smaller than a granny square I can make in 15 minutes. Huge respect to you for finishing that!

I made this on for my daughter who is a Paramedic. The graphghan took me a little over 5 months to finish. It was 74"x47". I put it on the floor and got up on a step ladder to take the photo. It was all sc.

I seriously need help.
This is my entire yarn stash and I have no idea what to do with it.
Here is all my fluffy yarn. On the top left separated by the few small cakes of super bulky and the Bernat Blanket are #4 Chenille/velvet. The rest is #6 super bulky.

Here are all my cheap #4 acrylics, mostly Big twist. The cakes I winded are like 1/3 to 1/4 of a full 380yd skein. Among these are 2 variegated yarns and 1 slow color changing 1/2 skein (purple one)

My scrappy drawer: the super bulky yarn scraps in here are VERY short and probably enough to make a large coaster sized amigurumi circle (but I do not need any more coasters) most are random acrylic.

So my problem is that most of the acrylic #4 yarns are very bright and I don't wear any bright clothes, especially ones with many bright colors combined. The yarn is not even close to enough to make a full blanket, plus I do not have enough neutral color yarns to just sprinkle some bright colors in there randomly and sparsely. I am working on that granny square baby blanket and using up many of them that way but it still bothers me how many weird colors I have.

ALL the Bernat Blanket skeins that have labels on them are full skeins but I have no idea what to do with them. The other super bulky #6 ones are all pretty small skeins that again won't be enough to make any wearables or medium/large amigurumis even.

The #4 chenilles/velvets are also mostly small skeins with 2 big skeins (blue and brown) that I might work into a sweater or something but again, not enough light/neutral colors to go with them.

Anyone have a game plan for me to use up some of these? Donating isn't an option because I honestly spent hundreds on these and I think having some amount of each color is useful, but these are like medium but not small enough or large enough skeins.
