I need to say something about this. This is a disorder in which a chickens crop gets stuffed and cannot empty itself properly, you will notice a large tennis ball size lump close to were u might find a gizzard the crop will be hard and large. You can treat it by flushing out their system with many different things like olive oil. I mention this now due to I just lost a 2 month old Cochin bantam due to this cause. I have no words accept R.I.P

I have dealt with impacted crops before and oil is not good for impactions. Especially grass impactions. It gums up the ball and makes it sticky. The best thing is water. Water water and more water. No food for one day and flush with water. I have also added epsom salt to the water because epsom causes the intestinal tract to move. And that is what an impacted crop can not do is move. The epsom will help to gently dissolve the impaction and causes the impaction, not only in the crop, but further on down the tract, to break down and move. I have cleaned out an impacted baseball sized crop in 12 hours with water and epsom salts.

Oh, and I am so sorry about your baby.
