Crop issues need HELP!

I'm also wondering if maybe she has what they call (hardware disease) which happens when a animal eats inedible objects like nails, screws ect, this might even be from eating a bunch of shavings...happened to one of my girls. Her crop whouldnt empty, vet cut her crop open and found massive amounts of shaving leading all the way up to the begining of her esophougus it was crazy and I have no idea why she did this to herself, makes no sense at all and I feel guilty about not being able to save her

At least she's with someone who cares for her and she's comfortable...let me know how she is in the morning

I hope your girls crop is flat this morning?, just found something about sour crop at home treatment that people have had great results with incase that's why her crop won't empty, Google "sour crop cured with monistat backyard chickens" it gives details on the dosage used ect, it caint hurt to try that either...

I treated her right away with Monistat on Sun, Mon n Tues. I think her impaction is further down. I think she still has some shavings inside her that can't get through. Sadly my baby is still eating and drinking, and pooping just not emptying her crop without the aid of the Dulcolax. It is still dark here, so I will know in about an hour whether her crop is empty this morning. She is still fighting. She wants to live.

Just got home to check my girl. Her crop is flat and she seems stronger today. Eating and drinking. No neck jerking or vomiting. Hopefully she is in the clear.

Both you and your little chick have fought too hard for this to end without a success story. I truly believe that. Hugs and fingers crossed!
