Hard to relate but my five month old Silkie/Cochin cross died this morning - Crosbie had an awful crossed beak and was always hungry despite being intensively fed throughout the day - I was aware that Crosbie would not live for long but I am so dreadfully upset that she has gone from my life, she was always delving into the feed bins for all of my animals, she ate horse feed, rabbit food, duckling feed, chick food and adult chicken feed - she was such a wonderful character and I will miss her terribly. Whenever I called her she would be there at my feet.... thank you Crosbie for enhancing my life - I knew that your time with me would not be long but I will never forget you.....!

Rest In Peace my love

Poor Crosbie! I've been in similar situations my self and know how hard it is to lose them. Even when you know they don't have long to live, it is devastating when they pass away. My prayers are with you and Sprout, God bless you both!

Oh, I am so sorry. I just had my blue silkie rooster die a few days ago, and I had only had him a few days. So sorry for your loss... It's always hard losing a BFFC (Best Friend Forever Chicken). Hugs to you!

So sorry to hear this has happened. I do know how you must feel. I've lost two this year and both were my favorites. They were both boys. A golden laced cochin and a buff orpington. Hugs and God bless.

Thank you everyone who has commented upon my loss of Crosbie - I am in floods of tears still,,,, Crosbie was so special - a real character and no other chick could compare to her - I am so very lucky to have had such a wonderful companion - sadly our time was short but the love will last forever - imprinted in my heart!
