I'll take the warmer weather, cuz were freezing like crazy up here! Water buckets keep freezing up and I have to bring them in. You should see my new Sebastopol geese play in the water! I have to break the ice! Enjoy the weekend, today is my birthday! Take care!

How is everyone today!? It's a bit chilly over here!

Can I just state that I have found the most amazing breed of chicken with regards to broodiness, the Japanese onigori (longcrower). My hen pulled off her fourth round of chicks this calendar year. I discovered her and the younglings in the hay loft just as I was in a huge hurry to get to work. I grabbed the hen, chicks, and unhatched eggs and made a nest in the bunny barn and put the very agreeable hen and babes in the nest and blasted off to work.
