Crossbeak and slightly deformed beak

Well I trimmed the bantams beak fine but the pullet escaped, and then we cut it a little far so I had to put flour on it to make it stop bleeding

I had a girl with a cross beak and she lived until she was 9 however a lot of it depends on how crossed it is and her position within the flock. Susan could be pretty formidable and, as such, could get to the food and scoop the food. If she was lower in the pecking order she may not have lived so long.
I agree with LaFleche a photo would be helpful to be able to give better advice.

And often times, the cross beak is not the only genetic issue. Often times these are not real long lived birds because of other genetic issues that you can't see.

I am very impressed with the above posters 9 year old cross beak. My experiences have never had them succeed like that.

I get quite a few hens that reach 9 or even 10. They are farm hens so tough old birds. Susan was part maran part something else.
She was a lovely hen and other than the beak in excellent health (except she was pigeon toed). Her beak wasn’t too bad either, I’ve seen a lot worse but she used to scoop the food in the bottom beak, weird to watch but a character ♥️ She used to scrape her beak a lot on the concrete driveway.

I don’t have any pictures of the pullets beak and I only have a picture of the bantams beak after trimming.

I'd really suggest using an emery board and filing it back vs clipping. It obviously got clipped too short on the bottom and the edges on the top should be smoothed out and rounded off.

Wish I had a photo of my crossbeak post-trim but she passed recently.
