Crossbred Ducklings Hachalong #1

Glad he's okay now! There's a lot of blood in that shell, I think that's one I might have left alone for another 24 hours.
Yeah I have no clue, he was really struggling and was like very very tangled in that egg. After he was out, it only took another 30-45 minutes to absorb that yolk.

so I’m pretty sure some of these little guys are dying in the eggs. This original group, I didn’t know how to set in a holder incubator, I’d only ever had one where it lays on side. So I believe they sat for a few days with small side down. This morning we have 2 pips on the good end and 1 on the small end. I also threw away #11 because they for sure had died but now I think maybe another three have.. keeping in incubator just in case a miracle happens :/

I've been watching your other thread on the twin ducklings and I hope everyone else hatches successfully!! :pop ;):D

Another one needed assistance last night and I had to toss 2 eggs this morning, my heart hurts for these guys. I cracked the dead ones just to check and be sure, and they're all positioned incorrectly and I feel so at fault for it. I'm trying to be on the bright side for the ones who are getting out successfully.

I’ve been keeping MJ (first one) inside because I didn’t want them alone and now Prince is their best friend :)

This is egg 15 which should have pipped today. To me this looks like they’re backwards as well, but if I make a hole for them to breathe I’m not sure where I should make that hole. Any suggestions?
