We were looking for some layers for my mother-inlaw. All we found taht fit the bill were show bird prices. Wished we had found you! Oh, well. Ended up with a pair of Greg Oakes exhibition White Chanteclers. Had to leg band them this week so MIL will be able tell them apart from their offspring. Guess I will be hatching them soon!

Wished I had a Padgett Muscovy! You should do well with them!

Majority of what I saw in the sale area were excellent birds.

I need to get more photos uploaded to photobucket so I can post them here.

You wouldn't want my culls as layers- they're super nice pets and great for kids, easy to catch and just the best disposition around.... but they are silkies!

Nice on the chanteclers! I like chanteclers, but my favorite large fowl are SLW and standard cornish.

Until the IWBA Western National I had only seen one muscovy at a show- and it was only one show, in MT, and it was but one. Since I had a couple for hatching and, after eating a few cull ducks decided duck was pretty darn tasty,.. called Padgett. I feel he has done a lot to support the hobby over the years and was happy to get stock from him. He came highly recommended by Konecny and Horton. The black drake from him is quite impressive. I had called to see if I could get some before the show.

Talk is cheap they say...we want photos! The Muscovy you bought, how are they related to the show winner? Hope you show them. We have lost to Danny or his birds several times. They truly are nice!

Don't know how related the hens are, but the drake is the son of the winner. He doesn't have a white feather on him, he's young, but he is very solid and broad.

I will have to get pics on the weekend, big test week for me. If I am not busy I must be dead.

Just keep them friendly. Especially the drake. I have scratches still healing from a young duck we took to Crossroads to sell. We hatched and hand raised the girl. She still confused my arm with a tree limb!

We have placed Grand Champion Watefowl, but Danny & Norma went over the top with their win! You should not have any trouble selling their offspring. Or winning with them!

Jim has a boo boo? Suck it up man....try taking an Egyptian goose out of one of those goose cages. They don't scratch by accident, they have every intention of hurting you. hahahaha
