As for the nest box, just work from the hole that you have. I really just winged mine - make the small sides first, spanning the height of the hole, then just start building frames for each side, with 2x3's or 2x2's.

Can I ask what size timber you used for the double back doors?

I've just built mine using 4x2 and 3/4" ply and unsurprisingly it's heavy! I didn't realy notice how heavy it was going to be until completely assembled

I also used 2x4s but a bit thinner plywood. Yeah, it is heavy! Gotta build it on site.

I bought some 9mm plywood in the end and reused the pieces I'd previously made elsewhere.
