Crows are hanging around my coop. Is this a problem?

My neighborhood crow Dante has a wife and 5 adult kids now, they don’t seem to land near my girls and they can’t get in the coop, and I don’t have babies so I encourage them. They LOVE peanuts (in the shell). I throw a handful on the driveway (200 feet from the chicken yard) and call them. They hang in our area and drive off the hawks. They also drive off the other crows that migrate through and might not be as nice to my chickens.

Has been a long time since an update.
I feed the crows some eggs once in a while and peanuts. Unfortunately their nest fell from the tree and broke, and the egg was gone 😔

They are rebuilding a nest a bit closer to my coop and on a separate tree. They drove off two more hawks lately and it's wonderful, I named them Clark (The husband) and Maisie ( The wife ) 😊

If you make friends with crows and ravens, sometimes they'll give you gifts!

That being said, I think the biggest concern with having them around would be that, since they are carrion eaters, they are at high risk for catching and carrying highly pathogenic avian influenza.

I have not seen any crows hanging ariund my chickens, but I have seen them hanging around the house after I rescued one of their fledglings that had fallen into a muddy dog yard after a big rain. I took it in, bathed it, gave it some food, and released it after it was back to being a normal crow.

Now groups of crows have been landing in trees and hanging out. We don't have hawk problems around here, but I don't mind having them around.

Has been a long time since I touched this thread.
Clark and Maisie are doing fine, They hatched out some new babies and they seem to stop coming around the coop or porch or anything but they still drive off Hawks, Unfortunately a hawk came into their nest when they were away and killed one of their babies or maybe two. I did hear a few more chirps so I know there are some babies still alive, I managed to pick up a broomstick and began waving at the hawk to scare it off from eating anymore babies, Now the two are staying at the nest more.

Clark and Maisie are doing fine
I have two crows who have spent time on my lawn in the last week. I put the chickens outside 3 weeks ago.
I tried offering them watermelon on a hot day, but it seems I scared them away. Though the chickens enjoyed all the slugs I collected on it overnight!

I've heard that overhead predators are less likely to go after black birds, and that it is helpful to have them around.

I practically have ground and air defense against those slimy sharp Hawks.. My Roo to take down the hawk if it comes close to the coop and gets passed my air defense and the crows to stop the hawk in the air
