I left a watermelon open all day, it was cut perfectly in half for the crows but they did not seem to go down to eat it much, only one of them came down but the other did not, They did not eat much of it so I just gave the other half of the watermelon to the chickens and leave the other for the crows Incase they go back down for more.I have two crows who have spent time on my lawn in the last week. I put the chickens outside 3 weeks ago.
I tried offering them watermelon on a hot day, but it seems I scared them away. Though the chickens enjoyed all the slugs I collected on it overnight!
I've heard that overhead predators are less likely to go after black birds, and that it is helpful to have them around.
Im sorry.. They EAT your window frames? We have crows in the spring, they attack our windows and eat the window frames. Drives the dogs nuts from first sparrow fart in the morning till bedtime. Yes all day !
We have tried at least a dozen methods to try and stop them but have, sadly, resorted to short sharp electrical current from old electric fencing placed across each window.
Not enough to kill them but enough for them to say ‘what the f*** ?’
Does sound a bit weird doesn’t it but Yes, they peck at them until the wood is chipped away. It’s a major problem ! I think they are attacking the crow in their reflectionIm sorry.. They EAT your window frames?![]()
Oh wow! I could never imagine waking up and two birds are just tearing away at your window frameYes, they peck at them until the wood is chipped away. It’s a major problem !
Yeah but it ain’t pretty …Oh wow! I could never imagine waking up and two birds are just tearing away at your window frame
but I think the electrical current could probably deter them from your window frame.![]()
