Thanks saladin

as an aside, please don't leave poison out, it is too inaccurate a weapon and cruel to use, and harms many animals that are not part of the problem. I have no problem with live traps or a well-placed 22 shot, but it is not reasonable to expect the animal world to stop at our property line. I live here with coyotes, stray dogs, bobcat, wolves, weasels, owls, and eagles and have never lost a chicken to a predator. I can completely understand your frustration.

I've trapped 13 coyotes in the last two seasons..... in the cock yard.

I've also caught (and removed to the swamp) numerous rattlesnakes.... again, in the cock yard.

When you live on the edge of the swamp life is a real outdoor adventure. lol

I was raised in east Tennessee, but I went to college at MTSU. Been to Mt. Juliet several times...nice place.

It use to be. When I was growing up it was all farms; now it is all houses. We go back each Thanksgiving to see all the folks. That is enough for me.

My brother and his wife operate a vet clinic in McMinnville. I have cousins that live in East Tennessee (Seymour and Knoxville); they are profs at UT.

My Dad and I went to stay a few days in McMinnville once, a few years back. He has an army buddy that runs a nursery there-a lot of tree farms in that area, I enjoyed seeing them all, being a grower myself. Lovely country.

If I give them enough light will they still lay? If I wanted to?
