Cubalaya Thread For Sharing Pics and Discussing Our Birds

White Cubalaya, he has been in the sun as much as he has wanted to be. He is very brassy, it looks almost lemony yellow.

In spite of snow forecast tonight, the birds think it is spring. I gave up ranging my 2 cocks with the whole flock, and put them in separate pens - someone was going to get hurt. I have 4 cubalayas and one Jap/cuba mix that are nearing a month old, being reared by a Jap hen. Two more hens are trying to go broody. Last fall's 3 chicks are all pullets. Two are black, but one is stippled with brown. She must be a throwback to the 1/8Thai, she is quite a bit larger than the solid blacks.

The stippled pullet looks very attractive, she shows her recent oriental influence quite a bit yet.
