I like the healthiness of your fowl. It's good to hear that you are getting less of the red in the hackle and white in the tail generation after generation. It's even encouraging to me to know that, as it seems that it's very difficult to get all the qualities in one bird. The difference is very obvious in the older cock versus the younger one. I would expect the younger one to molt and regrow more red and white feathers as he gets older.
The BBRed is a very nice cockbird. He is very friendly, talkative and gentle. His temperament is what I am selecting for in my Cubalayas. I like him a lot.

Here is an update on my golden duckwing (wheaten based). Well over a year old.

He is a bit feather pecked on his saddle feathers.

Here are some updated pics, the hens are just over a year, the cocks are about 9 months. The boys no longer get a long, had to move the #2 guy to his own pen.

This is #2

Here is the lead guy and his girls, the cat wants the bread I threw to them

I like the nicely shaded hackle color on those roosters. They are easy to look at. They look like healthy fowl.

Thanks, I love how shiny they are, no need for diamonds when you can have silked gold.

I like them a LOT!!!! I am still so happy with the odd road that brought me to them.

Also, wanted to say, the credit for the boys goes to Vaughn, the girls are actually from Ideal Hatchery. I have yet to breed any of them.

I need to get weights, what is the best method you guys/gals use? I have been looking at the hens pretty close and I think if I was going to bred it would be the black tailed (BBR right) and one of the blues. Out of the three blues one has blue eyes and short beak, then the other two have orange eyes, one with a shorter beak. Thoughts? I like the one with the blue eyes, but not sure if that is correct. The one that I am almost positive needs to be culled is the red ply, she is not the right type and I think she is the one laying shell less eggs, I don't want her to die a painful death, but I am not 100% certain it is her either. Have seen 2 in the past 2 weeks.
