A real Cubalaya will have a curious friendly temperament with little to no handling.

You shouldn't have told me that...I love having birds that are curious and friendly... O.O

friendliness or tameness are traits that need to be selected for. not all pure cubalayas are tame but some can be a little flighty depending on strain. probably not as bad as sumatras. I have never had sumatras but had some kraenkoppes that were crazy noisy and flighty. here are a few pics from today:

The dun Cubalaya are still in their first generation, which means they are also still 50% Sumatra.

The color is amazing, when the temperament matches I'd love a couple. I have a few Sumatrans I'm experimenting with too, so its nice to see the possibilities of what can be created.
