I do plan on keeping the spangles. I have several pretty nice females at this point, and this time around they seem healthy. Also this time around they are true spangled and not black mottled. I didn’t hatch any decent Pyle cockerels last year, but I have some ok pullets. I spent the first few years after I got birds back from you crossing all the strains and colors just aiming for size and health. I did try last year to intentionally breed some spangled birds, and this year I made breeding pens by color. But, I am currently getting white chicks out of wheaten parents and vice versa. The color genetics are pretty mixed up and will take a while to settle. I’m pretty sure the whites have blue and silver in there too so I can expect nearly anything to pop out. I had some chicks hatch today and I’m not sure what they will be when mature. I’m not sure, there may even be something like birchen buried in some of the whites. My current breeding groups are white x pyle, spangled x spangled, and bb red x ginger red. I could end up with nearly anything as there are lots of recessive genes at play here.Good to have you back on here. You have done quite a bit in the last several years. Are you planning on keeping the spangles going? Good work! How do the Pyles look?
