Cubalaya Thread For Sharing Pics and Discussing Our Birds

the chanteclers were also a breed not founded in america that is in the american class
The American Class refers to the continent of North America of which Canada is a part. US citizens call themselves Americans and rightly so, but when viewed from a continental perspective so are Canadians, Mexicans, etc. That is why the Chanteclers are in the American Class.

thanks didn't know that. i was told the reason it was there was because the part of canada it was created in used to belong to the us.

jim sallee the poultry judge told me thet

Hmm that's strange. Grandpa Jim has taught me quite a bit about different breeds and histories and I don't remember him mentioning the Chanteclers origin being originally American and then border changing.

Back onto cubalaya discussion. I just moved some cockbirds around an they look good. Of course my birds out here in the west defy the rules of laying for cubas. They are still not laying! The pullets are in full force but other than that, nothing.

Black cubalaya grade pullet, even as a chick her tail has always been held like she's holding it now. It's hard to get a good picture of her, she's a busy active pullet.
