Cubalaya Thread For Sharing Pics and Discussing Our Birds

Cubakid, is this the color you are calling stippled? I think of it as "wild type" BBR.

So are you saying this is an accepted color for a cubalaya hen? She is my best type-ey hen. Is the lighter shafting acceptable?

Stippled breeds of BBRed type coloring include BBRed old English bantams, light and dark brown leghorns. The bird pictured is a type of wild type BBRed. It is not showable but some believe it to throw good males.

i have both types and plan to keep breeding from both. i like the wild type, stippled, or gold wheaton. whatever you want to call them.
After looking more closely at the bird, been having trouble with my eyes/contacts, I would not have called that bird stippled, and should not have done so. Cubalaya is right, she is either stippled x wheaten or just wheaten (dark/golden).

I apologize if I confused the issue.

This is an bbr american game: stippled. Zach gave you a list: bbr in games, light/dark brown leghorns.

Here is a late hatch silver cubalaya cockerel. I'm not sure what will happen to all the white on his breast as he continues maturing. If anyone has any thoughts concerning it please share. He is right around 4 months old.

Many of my Wheatens in various breeds lose the breast coloring, as well as my silver Ameraucanas. I'd keep him, he's pretty clean colored. I have yet to produce a single bird without red shoulders regardless of hackle color.
