Cubalaya Thread For Sharing Pics and Discussing Our Birds

Pics
There's a whole forum on BYC devoted to feedback on hatcheries. Shouldn't take long to research the basics of service etc... I don't think I've seen any of their Cubalayas myself

Figured I'd post here about the bird I just got but first some history about it. I work at a local pet store and we always get chickens in. Well tonight I had a regular bring in some birds, just some random roosters and he told me he left a gift on my car. He wouldn't tell me what it was but when I got outside and opened the box, I found an adorable cubalaya bantam pullet! She looks wheaten for the most part, but almost looks like a wheaten with barring. I'll try to snag a pic of her on my next day off. She is just in with one of my spare serama cockerels for now. I have no clue what I'll do with her since I really don't have room for a new breed right now but I figure she can free range and maybe be a broody this coming year. The guy never tells me where he gets his birds so I have no clue where she came from or anything, she looks about 5 months old though

Guess I will do that. Worst case, they got their stock from Ideal and that is where I will have to go anyways since I have struck out everywhere else.
If you will contact Jim Zook then you'll end up with lots better birds than Ideal has. Zach in CA rec'd his original birds from Zook.

The Zook birds are very typey and stylish. I do like them alot; though I don't have any myself.
The major difference I've noticed in straight Zook birds and my own is that my males have larger (as in wider) tail feathers.
Still, those Zook birds have some really fine looking double tails.

Just my thoughts.
