The cheeps at TSC got me two days ago and I ended up bringing home six new fluff balls. Among them are these two cuckoo maran chicks and from what my internet sleuthing can deduce I have a 1.1 with the bigger white spot on the head being the cockrel?

With hatchery birds, I never trust the head spot thing. You should still be able to watch the barring and see how that turns out. Wider light bars on the wing feathers, vs wider black bars, will indicate a cockerel.

Also, if the legs are yellow, this would be a barred rock, not a cuckoo marans.

X2....production lines are muddled to where the "rules" get blurred. The barring will be your best characteristic in the next 2-3 weeks
