Cuckoo Marans cockerel?

I have not had Cuckoos before, from what I've seen online I thought males were black on white and females the reverse; white on black. But looking closely at Ruffles and watching behavior I suspect cockerel. Yes?

If it's a cuckoo Marans, it's a female. Males are much lighter. However, if it's only half cuckoo Marans, color doesn't matter. You didn't say how old it is?

Depending on age I think you have a cockerel. I've not raised cuckoo Marans but this bird's coloring looks off, like it may be a cross.

can you see him as a Cuckoo/Black Copper mix? The co-worker that I got the eggs from has both.

He could be-- he has white skin and feathered legs.
