Has he mellowed at all? I have moved Mad Hatter into the bachelor pad, and he is on his own for now. All the girls are together with Pippi to protect them and he is already taking it in stride. I'll leave Mad on his own for a while, maybe a couple months, before I reintegrate. If it is too hard for him to be in an adjacent pen, then I'll move him to the garden. I will need to set it up for him first. It's not predator proof at this point. But, that would be doable. I don't know why I'm so fond of Mad Hatter. Maybe because I've worked so hard with him trying to get him to be nice. Pippi was just born nice.

I'm sorry, Valerie. I don't think I saw this one? He has definitely mellowed out. Haven't had a run in with him in a couple months, though our oldest did about a week ago. He's far better than he was. Took a lot longer than I thought. I didn't have anything to go by, as he's the only rude dude I've had. :confused:

I'm into Plan B with Mad Hatter. He is now in my garden. We'll move a coop over there for him, and I'll build a temporary security run for him. He cannot see the girls form there and he's a good 200+ feet away from them. This change took place this morning when he wouldn't even let me come in to feed him. He has been so much worse since I segregated him. Now he is just angry. I sure hope he can come out of this.

Oh dear, I'm sorry. Some roosters just aren't as friendly or for some reason will see you as a threat.

Yes, and yes. viral infection in the respritory systems. very contagious. I have tried all forms of meds. and still waiting on delivery off the internet for the other medication.
