Cup o' Joe and Tea Too

If a cat is infected with Feline Spongiform Encephalopathy, and you eat it, you can get variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease.
Hmmm....had to look that up. Let's see, my memory doesn't work anymore, I can't see the way I used to...I guess in a year I'll know if I have it because I'll be dead. :lau And here I thought it was old age.

P.S. NO, I have not eaten my cat!!! :gig

vCJD has an incubation period of over 7 years, so if you eat infected meat, the prions will build up without causing symptoms over that time period, they will only start causing symptoms once they enter the brain. There have been 4 confirmed cases of vCJD in the US so far, and most of the people weren't originally from the US, so it's thought that they were probably infected while outside of the US.

That's in my plans for the weekend, Penny. Got one done this weekend and should be able to get the other two on Saturday. Supposed to be nice temps, but hellacious winds. Doesn't make for good coop cleaning weather, having it all blowing in your face. 😷
Lucky you! You must have a couple of nice big coops and a covered run, and all those things we'll start building next month. In the meantime, my four little coops are getting cleaned about every day with all this rain and short days. The girls are in more than they are out right now.
