Well, friends, the unthinkable has happened. DH picked up Mad Hatter and saw a lice on him. We have been watching him because I saw a wild bird flying into his coop to eat his food. I thought that would be bad news and it is.
He lives in his own coop and run but he free ranges with the others during the day, so, you got it...we have to treat everyone.
As we were treating him we didn't see any other signs of lice, so I'm hoping we have nipped it in the bud, but we will retreat in a week regardless.
Tonight, after they all go in the coop, we will pick up and treat all the hens and Pippi. I did pick up Girlie Girl and she shows no signs of lice at all, but all will be treated just in case.
Grrr... I feed the wild birds 300' away from the coops just to keep them away from them, but at least one found the mother load of quality food.
Well, I just had to complain a little. We have never dealt with this before.
