That's sounds so good! Am I too late??? :caf

Spent the day setting up a brooder in the coop and moving the chicks out. :wee After ironing out a few glitches in the heating system, they are all set and happy. :jumpy They have more space than a tote, and they can see the other chickens and the outdoors. In a couple weeks I'll even open a pop door and give them an enclosed outdoor space.

I bought a heating pad specifically designed for animals, as in it supposedly wont shut off, but it shut off!!! :rant So, at the last minute I had to switch to a heat lamp. Not what I wanted to do, but I definitely didn't want to bring them back in the house at this point.

In the end, I fully expect this to be my easiest and most successful brooding, grow out, and integration. :fl

There will be more iced coffee later today Val, I'll put in your order for a cup! For now, hot coffee is necessary for eye-opening :D

That's too bad about the pad shutting off. Hope your integration goes well!

Quiche is good food, and a nice way to use up extra eggs!

When I checked on the chicks early this morning (6am), they were fine. Well, they were fine after I picked them up off the ground and put them back in the coop. I opened the door and 4 of them fell out!!! There is a little board there holding the shavings in and they were perched on it. I will put a little perch in there for them. So far there are no hens taking an interest, but Louie Louie, the young cockerel, was in there when I brought them out. I think he is hoping for some friends. :love

That must have been a surprise to both you and the chicks when they came tumbling out
