Yay! I love it when it works!!!My quiche came out yummy I was so thrilled it worked looked super tasted even better
That's sounds so good! Am I too late???
Spent the day setting up a brooder in the coop and moving the chicks out. After ironing out a few glitches in the heating system, they are all set and happy.
They have more space than a tote, and they can see the other chickens and the outdoors. In a couple weeks I'll even open a pop door and give them an enclosed outdoor space.
I bought a heating pad specifically designed for animals, as in it supposedly wont shut off, but it shut off!!!So, at the last minute I had to switch to a heat lamp. Not what I wanted to do, but I definitely didn't want to bring them back in the house at this point.
In the end, I fully expect this to be my easiest and most successful brooding, grow out, and integration.![]()

When I checked on the chicks early this morning (6am), they were fine. Well, they were fine after I picked them up off the ground and put them back in the coop. I opened the door and 4 of them fell out!!!There is a little board there holding the shavings in and they were perched on it.
I will put a little perch in there for them. So far there are no hens taking an interest, but Louie Louie, the young cockerel, was in there when I brought them out. I think he is hoping for some friends.
