Cup o' Joe and Tea Too

Good morning all. AZ today if you want it, I make it strong, help yourselves.

A manager at walmart once told hubs that stuff is out early so that families that don’t make much money can have time to buy stuff for the holidays. I think it’s so that stores can make as much money as possible from the hype. Maybe I’m cynical, but I have a hard time imagining walmart being philanthropic for any reason other than how it impact their bottom line. I’m curious to see what the black friday sales will be like this year and how that impacts major businesses.

@ValerieJ good to see you! Sounds like you’ve been a busy lady. I hope Queen Bee is ok and gets along well with Surly.

Thanks for the AZ coffee IM, that's some good stuff!

Cynical or not, I have to agree with you on the early holiday revenue. I wonder if Black Friday sales will happen in stores this year...maybe they'll be limited to online only? That's one event I make a point of avoiding every year!

I hate shopping anyway but add all those rude people? No thanks lol. I have done it years past to get certain things for my family but it was a rarity. Online has been huge in years past but I’m wondering if people will have the bucks to spend this year. We went to Sprouts the other day and there were more people in the 99 cents store than I’ve seen in a long time...I don’t shop there generally but I noticed a lot of people were.

I'm not much of a shopper either. That's always been my mom's favorite pastime, I think she burned me out on that a long time ago. (It's always safe to blame the mom, right?)

I think we’re in the same boat there. My mom loves to shop and so does my kid as a result. It skipped a generation lol. And yes, it’s safe to blame mom if it was really her fault!

I used to go every year, but the sale prices have not made it worthwhile for me. Hubby just buys stuff online.

Well, I went to Sunbird and no boxes of tomatoes or any veggies, Penny. The event must be over. They didn’t even have the jar seals and rings. :eek:That really surprised me. Might be done canning for this year. Jeremy’s has boxes of tomatoes for less than Bill, the guy from Yakima, and they look a lot nicer. But no Roma’s. 😕

Can you believe I've NEVER been shopping on black Friday?
I can believe that. I haven’t either.
