Cup o' Joe and Tea Too

How frustrating! :( This pandemic has created problems for everybody. Quite a mess!
I saw there are a hoard of lawyers getting ready to sue WHO, Pharmaceutical companies, local governments, etc. over this lock down and the damage they have done economically. Death toll is no larger than a normal year.

I heard that flu outbreaks are down 95% this year so far!!! :hmm

Good morning everybody! Fresh coffee in the pot!!! Did anyone bring donuts?

I went to Portland for an iron infusion yesterday. I can't wait to get a little energy back!!!

I sure have a lot of chickens right now. I'm going to have to figure out how it's going to work out in the long run. Will some go to live with Louie Louie? Will I set up a bachelor pad for all the cockerels? I can't decide yet. Need to spend some time out there watching them more.

Yup yup yup, mmhmm... that's where I'm at.. 3 light brahmas will go in a run, Buff Orpingtons will go in a run along with the marans. My little black copper marans is so friendly in spite of being outdoors. Her sister is a house bird.. Then I have um, a beilefelder I'm still not sure is a pullet or cockerel (waiting on that) and a few odd EE cockerels. Guess the extra boys will go in the 'round pen'.. then I have two free grow out pens for the kids in the brooder/incubator. Waiting....waiting to see how many cockerels I got from my hatch.

Yes, that sounds like me right now. I need more pullets because I'm not getting enough eggs anymore, and my retired hens get to stay and live out their lives. So, I have some that are a few months, two pullets, Lori and Susie Q. Also, five 8 week old chicks that are just now integrating, which includes at least 2 cockerels, and hopefully only 2. :fl And one of my hens is sitting on 4 eggs. My main coop is 8x10, so I can technically put 20 chickens in there, but it looks like it would be a bit crowded. Besides, I cannot keep all the cockerels in with the girls, and I do have a couple smaller coops to move groups of up to 4 into, with runs that can be divided off easily. But, how to divide them is the question. 🤔 I guess it depends on what I end up with, so it's a bit of a watch and see.

Lemme see.... I have Pippi and Mad and their girls, 3 Australorps, 2 BOs, 2 RIRs and 2 LOs, so that's 11. Add 2 pullets, and 5 chicks, and Louie Louie who is on his own atm because he's too hormonally crazy right now, and I'm at 19. If the 4 eggs hatch, I'm clearly over my 20 chicken capacity. Not to mention I will have too many cockerels. What to do, what to do. :lau

Three of my EE's turned out to be the light brahmas.. I told the guy and he said.. 'Oh WOW!' One that was supposed to be a Beilefelder turned out to be an EE named Geronimo because of the way he would jump back in to the brooder from the screen above. Two other EE's turned out to be boys (of course, just my luck), and are named Greystoke and Braveheart. BO's are Bo and Bonny. The one LB that is definitely a cockerel is named Lone Silver (maybe the white horse he rode, who knows?). Haven't named his two ladies yet. Not sure if the one Beilefelder is a gal or a guy so kind of waiting on naming that one, along with the two LB ladies. Mara (BlackCM) and Maranantha (BlueCM) who is the 'house bird'. Does that make 11 juveniles? Haven't even begun to name the 3 week old chicks in the brooder. I sure did get lucky with that lot. Everyone of them attacks me for chest rubs already.. Well, almost. There's one (surely a cockerel as he is very slow feathering) is just now warming up to the idea that chest rubs are kinda ok. I'm really digging the 3 week olds as they were my very first hatch. Some are actually barred, while some are more speckled like a coo coo.
