Anyone here seen "Murder on the Orient Express"? How was it?

I might see it on DVD. I know the story and I've seen the earlier version. This one looks very stylish and Kenneth Branagh's moustache certainly does Poirot proud.

I see quite a few movies a year, while critic's reviews are okay I prefer the opinions of friends/family. This thread is not meant to be a critique but, a poster's personal opinion. PLEASE do not include spoilers and definitely no pornographic films. I think we will be fine if we just start with titles and ratings if known ie., PG, PG-13. R etc.

I LOVE Nicolas Hoult - and I ran out and bought it on DVD. I also really like his buddy zombie - I think his name is Bob Cordry or something like that. He was great also, and I have seen him in many movies- since I know what to look for.

Thinking of seeing "The Shape of Water," this weekend IF my brother(driver) agrees. It does sound pretty bizarre but I am an equal opportunity movie goer. It has great reviews from critics but I know they really doesn't matter. I liked the trailer.

I just saw Justice League with the family. Meh. It was okay. I seem to prefer the Marvel side of things (not so much personally, but as a mostly non-geek living among geeks, I find the Marvel characters more personable with the exception of Wonder Woman...really well played by Gabot).

I passed on Murder on the Orient Express this time. I've seen 2 versions before this and know the story so well that I will be disappointed either way. Either they did it poorly compared to the others, or they messed with it too much. I'll watch that when it hits Netflix.

I will be there in theater with the family for Star Wars. I still chide the "kids" (all adults now) who think Star Wars I is the modern version....I remind them that episodes were shot completely differently. Anyway, I'll be there. The last one was disappointing, so I go more for nostalgia.

I'm looking forward to Jumanji. I remember the Robin Williams version. It will be fun to see what they do with this one. The trailers make it look interesting.

Wonder is on my list to see. I've helped a couple of my students with school essays on that book. It deeply impacts my students.

Have not heard about LBJ. I'll look for it in the theaters. I love anything historical, if it is done well (and not propaganda). LBJ was a complicated character. I've read about him in the "Upstairs at the White House" from the chief usher J. B. West giving a behind the scenes of the presidential lives during his tenure which lasted from Truman to just before Nixon. (I've also read "My 42 Years in the White House" by Irwin Hood Hoover....very interesting read cited by many historians....from around Cleveland to FDR).
