Current Movies - Thumbs UP or Thumbs DOWN

LadyofMc you get the movies ahead of us. Still waiting for Darkest Hour , also the Shape of Water.

I noticed "Dark" in the Netflix lineup and want to try it out. I expect it is darker & scarier than others I have seen. My son is in for the holidays, I'm trying to persuade him to watch it with me.

Amazingly, it is not that scary. I thought it might be, and I'd have to bail out. It is about equal with Glitch in scare factor (thus far...I think I'm on episode 5?). Definitely some bad language here and there, and one very tasteless sex scene in the first episode which I skipped over (love Netflix scan for that).

But overall, it is pretty well done and intriguing. I keep waiting for something very evil to fall...but it seems to be more along the line of the dystopian, man does himself in, kind of thing....definitely hidden agendas...VERY surprising the Germans are willing to put it out with their back history.

I really enjoyed "The Man Who Invented Christmas."

IMHO, it is the perfect Christmas movie.

It is a fictionalized story, but based on true history, of how "A Christmas Carol" came about as seen by Dickens perspective.

I love seeing "Scrooge" or "A Christmas Carol" in live play this time of year, but wasn't able to find a production not charging $$$ this year, so this filled my craving.

The movie truly is a gem. Enjoyable to watch. Good acting. Nice production. Very funny. Anyone who has ever read or seen an adaptation of the "Christmas Carol" will find much to enjoy. Those who are history buffs will find some fun inside jokes.

I just looked this movie up. It looks so good. I'll have to see if it's available on iTunes so we can rent it and watch it as our Christmas night movie this year.

Today we saw "World's Greatest Showman". The film critic in USA Today panned this movie pretty badly so I was prepared to be disappointed. NOT ! Hugh Jackman is at his finest in the story of Phinaeus T Barnum. He dances, sings, and acts as only he can. Go see this movie and be entertained. Both the Princess and I give it 4 stars.

So far my son(in town now) wants to see Coco, my brother the one with Churchill, and Me "the Shape of things." I have to say I am not a history buff in the least - my brother is. I have to go or else!!

Also want to see Hugh Jackman, I love him.
