Current Movies - Thumbs UP or Thumbs DOWN

Loved "Dog." We have had a couple of "problem" dog rescues foisted on us over the years. The addage is true: "All you need is love" (and A LOT of patience.) Eventually the lightbulb goes on and things in the relationship get tenable and copacetic, but sometimes it's a long hard road to slog.... as it was for the movie where both had to overcome some pretty damning obstacles. It sort of felt like being there, which the sign of a well-made movie.
Haven't seen it yet but you are spot on. Never give up on a dog. They can surprise you. Our rescue dog was a completely different dog from the one she is now. But I definitely got a few grey hairs training her!

Thanks for the reviews! I liked Lost City but was a bit bored with the new Batman movie. I look forward to the new Fantastic beasts movie-- it will likely be on HBO on or about May 31st.

:idunnoI have never watched Downton Abbey
It's not to everyone's taste, to say the least :gig

Saw Top Gun Maverick on the weekend. It was exactly what you'd expect from a Tom Cruise flick. Lots of action, not much substance. Nostalgia thrown in for good measure. 3.5 stars
Thanks for the review!

Today we saw "Top Gun: Maverick". Princess gives it 4 stars, and I will go 3.5. I'm not a Tom Cruise fan, but it's a good movie.
I don't like him either. To my mind, his characters come across either arrogant or smarmy. It's entirely possible I haven't seen his better work as I usually give his films a miss.
