Current Movies - Thumbs UP or Thumbs DOWN

Saw Iron Man 3 for the second time today with my brother. We came about a half hour early and theatre was pretty filled this time - of course it was Sunday and kids home. The movie was a bit easier to take the 2 nd.time. I think because I knew what to expect and wasn't so disappointed. MY brother liked it (not loved it) and said he would give it probably 3 stars. I still didn't tell him I had seen it before.

There was absolutely NO audience involvement -no laughing at sly remarks, No Kids yelling encouragement- very, very quiet like it was a documentary. When I saw Avengers last year - audience was very engaged and vocal. I see the movie has already grossed billions or something across the world. "They" are saying it's because of 'word of mouth.' I don't know about that.

Some gossip holds that this may be the last installment. Robert Downey wants to re-negotiate his contract. We all know what that means.

P.S. I used to suffer from severe panic attacks, my sister had them years ago, both her daughters have had them. WE know what it feels like and sad to say Pepper Pots not reacting is spot on for the way we have been treated. At most people have been annoyed when I had to leave a building fast, and get to a quiet place and "breathe!" I'm thinking Tony would mesh better with Black Widow.

The Princess and I saw "Mud" today. It was OK entertainment. I've never quite 'gotten' Matthew McConnaughey, but he was all right in his part- the kids were great. We enjoyed the movie - definately will not make my Top Ten list.

What I did find disturbing about Mud was - the constant cigarette smoking. For awhile movies had it toned down ,NOW everybody lights up.

Not only was Mud lighting up, but he was deep inhaling - yep, I noted that too. There was an older couple (yep, older than the Pricess and me) who were off put by Neckbone's swearing (and perhaps my laughing each time he swore.) They got up and walked out of the movie.

I skipped Gatsby, never read the book and the reviews have been bad. Wish Leo would get into something really good like "Catch Me if You Can" I think that was the movie, Tom Hanks was in there to,o pursuing him and great as always.

Probably will see Star Trek II this week- I'm learning not to expect much of any movie,.

The people I've talked to said gatsby was good. Oz and Iron Man had great media reviews and noone I knew liked it. Im seeing gatsby this weekend so ill put my review up then.

Looking forward to your opinion, Kaitie. The Princess wants to see "Gatsby", but between her play and my field trials it won't be until week after next.
