wish someone who has seen the new OZ movie would comment on it
Good story, entertainingly over-the top main character and amusing side-kicks. You' not going to get too much out of Glinda, though. Kinda one-dimensional villains, but they work.

Good story, good actors, good director, meh effects (suffers from too much bluescreen and 3D stuff, but they don't kill it if you enjoy what's going on).

when I go to the first showing of the day, it's usually just me and maybe a half dozen other dignified elderly people - thing is they seem to miss all the good lines, I'm hooting like an owl, and they are sitting there like statues. Maybe they decided to laugh vicariously thru me.

The Princess and I do week day matinees. We joke that we are in 'our' theater.

I too tend to laugh at what others might find to be inappropriate times.

Seen Iron Man 3 and Oz the Great and Powerful last night. Both movies were okay. I left before the ending of IM3 because I was so tired (you'd never guess I was youngin') and it was probably the most boring of the Iron Man movies.

Tom Cruise's new one - Oblivion - was good, somewhat predictable, but I thought it was good (not as "deep" as some of the other movies suggested on here)

Another one of my all time favorites is The Last Castle with Robert Redford, really good movie.

The wife and kids went a saw Ironman 3 yesterday afternoon while I was at work...I told them it was okay as long as the kids didn't tell me all about it....but when I got home the first thing I heard was "Dad! Guess what happened in the movie!?"

I am a Iron Man fan so I got to the movie an hour and a half early thinking I would be battling crowds to get a ticket. Nope. I was the only one in the theatre - right before show time several groups came in but, the show was only about half filled. I have only waited thru long lines for Lord of the Rings, and Iron Man. I won't be doing it anymore.

The movie was a BIG disappointment to me (I really expected to love it) too many minor subplots that should have been deleted. Too many Iron man suits, and too much repetition
Too many wise cracks with no one around to bounce them off of.

If you stay for the movie, hang around for the last of the credits to roll, for a bonus scene (as usual) tying into another movie. I thought the bonus scene was the only fresh part of the movie.

I haven't told family my opinion so I'm going back to see Iron Man 3 with my brother tomorrow. Maybe it just needs a second chance - yeah right. If my brother has a different take on the movie I will post it.

PS I have never liked Gwyneth Paltrow and can't see why he would have picked her even drunk. There is no chemistry whatsoever. THUMBS DOWN!!

Agree about the pepper/Paltrow comment. I was disappointed by how cold she was to him, even when he was basically telling her that he was having a meltdown. I felt so bad for him. The whole movie he's having panic attacks and no one even stops to ask if he's ok? That bothered me. I would have asked him! Lol

I am a total movie nut... love watching movies

That being said I haven't been to a movie theater since Captain America (yeah).
it seems that recently there haven't been a lot of new movies to catch my attention.

But I cannot wait to see Star Trek Into Darkness!!!!
A couple years ago we got streaming Netflix and since having access to the Star Trek legacy
(original series, the next generation, all 4 movies, the new star trek) i have to say i'm becoming a total trekkie haha.
And i'm excited to see Sherlock as a bad guy

I was laughing all the way through.
