“What are your names?” Basalt asked. “And do we have the troops to spare for messengers?”Kallitrax stilled himself. Staring back before dipping his head slightly, “ Yes, monarche Basalt.” He responded. But all he could think was, “ if he surrendered to Apollyon, he’s now longer our monarche by law. He knows that, but maybe this means he’s found a way out of surrender.” Kallitrax hoped this was the case.
Basalt looked up at Ace. “Ask him yourself! Your a pupa now!”(Beware the area around the peak is heavily guarded XD)
*storm headed out of the castle after a while, making her way for the caverns, in the opposite direction of appollyon.*
*azira gave a silent nod before heading through the portal as well.*
Ace: then why did he look at me that way?? *he was referring to kallitrax.*
Onyx allowed herself to be escorted to a room in the Aerattl palace. “I need to speak with your Monarche immediately.” She said urgently.
“Your in no place to be giving orders.” Zephyr said, sending the guards out to speak with her alone. “What is your name? Where do you come from?”
Onyx allowed herself a breath before answering. “I worked for Apollyon himself- BUT before you freak out- I defected.”
Zephyr’s eyes widened and she opened her mouth to speak, but Onyx cut her off.
“I worked as one of Apollyon’s Inner Ring- its true. But I soon learned that he’s nothing but a blood and power- hungry tyrant.”
“You’ve got that right.” Zephyr said, glowering. “Why should I trust you? Are you planning on killing the Monarche? Is that why you wanted to see her?”
“NO.” Onyx said, already fed up with the testy Advisor. “This,” she mentioned to her burns. “is just one part of the cost to work for him.” She mentioned to the scar on her face and her unseeing eye. “An Aquation/Enfernae burned me while I was leading troops to the Praline Pavilion.” She mentioned to her leg. “And this I was forced to do as a cover-up. Which obviously didn’t work, which is why I’m on the run.”
Zephyr gave her a suspicious glare. “How do I know your not just making this up.” She said flatly.
Onyx was tired of trying to explain herself. “Look- you can see what he’s done, you can see the torment, pain, and anguish he’s put everyone through! Is it so hard to believe that I don’t want to work for him anymore?”
Zephyr stared at Onyx before shutting the door to the room, locking it, and leaving to think.
