Cute Highland cattle

I raise Dexters.

Half pints like highlands, without the hair. They both are delicious on the BBQ.
Are you dexters polled? Do you use them for milk?

I've heard highlander meat is very good. I've yet to try it. The plan with Chewy's baby was: bull calf we eat, heifer calf we keep. Though, that's turning into a keeper either way. :clap

I have both. I run such a small amount that I’m not worried about horns. (Bull and two breeders. We eat offspring. Slaughter at 2 years. So we have 5-7 head depending on if it’s April or June.

I have milked one cow. She tolerated it. Heavy cream and about a quart of the gallon I milked was cream when separated. Made about 1.25 cups of butter. So fairly high milk fat.
