We’ll she’s cute anyway!I don't know really? They're bantam cochins but I don't know which color they are technically classified as. All my others are eggers, leghorns, and barred rocks.

I love the face on the last one! Thanks!
the 3rd hen is a mix. I got her from some one but I’m not sure what she’s mixed with. I was thinking barred Cochin x black silkie. She’s got 5 toes but pink skin. And throws barred Roos black hens with white leakage around the neck when bred to a purebred silver duckwing. 75/25 I get 5 toed chicks., hens get black skin. I think they are Mille fleur or calico as I saw someone on here who also has calico Cochins!Fancy has a deep hatred of paparazzi.

Yeah!! @pipdzipdnreadytogo like just posted hers!!Are there really silkied Cochins?!
Entry 1: Dandelion
Dandelion Fluff is a silkied recessive White Cochin bantam, about a year and a half old now. She was a bit of a surprise out of some silkied Blue / Black / Splash Cochin bantam hatching eggs I bought last year. Not even the person I bought them from was aware at the time that her birds carried recessive White! She's a round, sassy little bird who's always busy, busy, busy with something.

Dandelion loves sitting in my lap. Even though she's always so busy, she never misses a chance for a good cuddle. This is what I see every time I sit down in her pen:

"CUDDLE TIME!"

Dandelion is, herself, already quite confident that she's the cutest Cochin in existence. Just look at this face and try to tell her otherwise!

Here are her entries and all the pics she posted of them!Entry 2: Zinnia
Zinnia is a silkied Black Cochin bantam who hatched in the same batch as Dandy, so she's about one and a half years old now. Compared to Dandy, Zinni’s definitely the quiet one, and always seems to have time to stop and munch on the flowers.

Zinni is a bit more low-key than Dandy, but not shy about lap time, either. She loves sitting in my lap quietly, or singing gently in her sweet little voice.

Zinni is a special little lady who seems to love special days. She hatched on April Fool’s Day, and laid her very first egg on Thanksgiving!

This is probably the cutest picture I have of her, admiring her very first egg on Thanksgiving last year.

Here are all her pictures of hers.I do indeed.
Well, I guess I can spare a few pictures...

Edit, whoops, I just noticed this was a contest threadApologies!
I free range my main flock every day as long as there's no snow on the ground, including the Cochin bantams residing in that flock, and they do just fine. I think it depends a lot on your area, though. I'm in a heavily agricultural area and don't seem to have much of an issue with anything but hawks during the day, and my girls have lots of cover to run to to keep them safe during free range so they do fine.
So pretty!!Laverne (sister to Shirley)![]()
