What's at the post office boo? expecting something? something cool like a infrared telescope spy gadgety thing?
And yes, Redhen...my girls ARE most definitely having loads of fun with the kitties.... I know if they put on sweatshirts and their slipper socks... where they are heading.
My Thanksgiving.... Zoe had a slight fever on mon. night, Ava had a slight fever on tues night, both are now complaining of sore throats---popsicles are cure alls for that--- and Zoe was in a lot of abdominal pain last night? I didn't know how to help her... her gas was
but the poor girl was in such pain. I felt so sorry for her. But on tues. I called her school and told them we had a rough night and she was complaining of a sore throat... they tell me they aren't surprised 6 kids were out on mon. with fevers in Zoe's class and 2 sit at her table. sigh...
So I was banned from meeting with my family at my mom's cabin by my sisters. So what did I do? Yesterday, I quick defrosted the turkey I was gifted from my Bible study friends and today I cooked our own Happy Thanksgiving meal. I made the turkey, red mashed potatoes with the skin still on, buttered corn from this summers corn that I froze, and biscuits. My neighbor comes over before he's to go to eat at his brothers to check in on me and he hears what we are doing and says is there anything else I can get for you? Well, my 8 yr. old says, "pumpkin pie."
So he says, I'll be right back and comes over with a Sarah Lee apple pie, tea, and sweet gherkins. That was really cool of him, he had extras. Then he was off.
And we put rootbeer in fancy glasses and said a prayer and made a toast and clinked our glasses. We rented movies after and have just been hangin out and havin a pretty comfy and cozy day. OH OH and we woke up to a blanket of SNOW!!!!! But it was melted by the time I went out to do the chickens... I actually woke up at 4 am and looked out and was like, what? aaw man, not now. ha ha ha... I want my meaty birds to be done before it snows... another week or two and then it can. I don't want to mess with frozen water dishes for that many birds. eesh...
And then later my neighbor's teenage dd came over with a slice of pumpkin pie for Zoe.
It was big enough for both girls to have some.
I have to say, I didn't mind missing the hustle and bustle that comes with holiday travel and having to sleep on a floor at the cabin since the way that I've been feeling lately. It was nice to stay all cozied up in the house... cuz brrr.... those winds were cold yesterday and today.
hugs,
gretch
and I'm still lovin that I got to meet dac and punch him in his arm...and I'm sorry I didn't hug his wife goodbye.
Hope you all are having a faaaantabulous time with your family daccers!!!
