I hope you had a happy thanksgiving maple. Mine was very good. yesterday DIL and I made pies. Today I made everything else. My boys came over. Oh yea, youngest son made the mashed potatoes. Growing up, I used to make him peel the potatoes. A few times his friend would be here and he'd have to peel potatoes too. That same friend was here again for thanksgiving, and he had to peel potatoes!
Well, a couple extra people showed up, Oh no, I don't have enough forks!
I burnt the giblets, but I don't think anyone missed them. And right when it was time to eat, some butter spilled on the bottom of the oven and the whole place was smoked out!
My green bean casserole was a hit, so was my gravy, and it was a fun fun day!
After all the cooking, and dish washing and cleaning the house the day before, it is all worth it to hear people say, thank you, it was very good. And the hugs, and the family and friends, and my dad of course!
Bunnies got carrots, and so did pony, the chickens were running around. Oh ya, one of them started laying a week ago, and another started laying yesterday. so I had eggs to make my pies!
Today I got one green egg, one brown one and one white one!! These are the chickies I got last May, remember they were attacked by a blue jay?
Tomorrow the chickens will get to feast on all the leftovers from the carcass.
I might make it to the post office tomorrow. Ya, I've been lollygagging.
