Daily Duck Egg Report for 2015

Am I doing something wrong....


My call ducks just are NOT laying eggs! They should be popping them out like no bodies business but I don't have any. About a month ago I got a soft shelled egg. Should I be worried? What is going on?

We got an egg today from one of my young girls! It's tiny so too so either it's an odd egg or its from my small runner. I'll find out when I crack it open tomorrow.

Woot, woot! 3 out of 5 are laying. The younger ones will be 22 weeks on Monday! Now I need to figure out who laid what.

I have gotten 2 eggs this week from my almost 11 yr old Muscovy Shirley, maybe # 3 is waiting for me now she was in the stall again this morning.

Rocky my little Cayuga lays the blue egg and its huge compared to the rest. I am going to guess my little runner Zuma laid the small white one. I have no idea who laid the other.

That's awesome that she is still laying at 11! She must be one happy duck.

She didn't lay today just thought she had to. lol but 2 this week from her is good. here she is

I did not know Cayuga laid blue eggs. that is so cool. I thought they laid blk for some reason.

I am jealous. A blue egg from your Cayuga. I have gotten Black, Grey, Olive and White but no blue yet. I guess I will have to keep hoping. Very nice egg by the way.

She is very pretty. Rocky's eggs started really dark greenish and now have lighten up to a consistent blue/green. I didn't have her last year so maybe they were black then? I've heard they start dark and then lighten up as they lay.

Thank you. She is quite the egg layer too and had only skipped 3 or 4 days since she started to lay at the end of Jan. She is also really small at 4.2 lbs and has thus far given me the largest eggs.

I got a spotless egg from one of my Pekins today. I still can't believe it. Perhaps a wild duck laid it out back, because no self respecting Pekin would produce an egg that was not covered in mud and absolutely disgusting...
