Daily Writing Prompt Thread Thingy It'll Be Fun

has the other guy from the other one. I loved writing about him too much.
If you want to see what came before this, click the link in my sig. sorry if its confusing😬
(i dont know the main character's name so i've just been putting "-----" where i would put it)

We finally emerged into daylight and into a large lush forest. There was not a sound to be heard but a far off warbling whistle. It was almost eerie. I had never seen this land before. The sun was streaming through the leaves and a sort of pollen drifted through the air.
“Allright,” I said, “We need to find a way out of here and to the keep. We can stock up on supplies there.”
“------,” Katoka growled, “Listen.”
I listened, everything was quiet.
“I don't hear anything” I stated.
“That's the point,” she huffed, “The whistling, it stopped.”
“Could it just have been a bird?” I asked.
“That was no bird,” Katoka said.
Her ears flicked to the side just as someone, no, something dropped quietly to the ground behind us. Had it not been for Katoka, I would not have seen it.
I nudged John and flicked my head to the side. He looked where I had indicated and then turned fully around in surprise.
A man, taller than John even, stood behind us.
Everyone was looking now.
I would have been scared but something about this thing wouldn't allow that reaction. It was more like awe than fear that I felt.
He stood facing us though his head was tilted down as if he were sleeping. His attire was complex yet ancient, but the thing that was most strange was that instead of hair, he had brown feathers that traveled from his head, down his back, feet like an eagle’s, and large graceful wings folded neatly behind his back.
None of us moved until slowly, John reached down and drew his sword.
The creature lifted his head slowly and stared into my eyes. I stared into his. They were fiery and fierce yet noble and wise. They were amber and gold in color and had large dark pupils. They pierced me like the sharpest sword.
John took a step towards him.
I don't know what happened but in one quick movement, the sword was swept out of John's hand and stuck in a tree to the side.
The man’s wings were now spread out and he was smiling.
He clapped his wings together towards us, sending a huge gust of air our way and knocking us to our backs on the ground all except Katoka who was flung to her side with a yelp.
I was dazed at the impact but I managed to lift my head enough to look at him.
Then he spoke. “Why are you here?” He took his time when he spoke, letting no words go to waste. His voice was rich and smooth even in anger. When he spoke, we listened.
“I…I’ve heard…of you!” John hissed. “Y-”
“How much have you heard?” He cut John off.

Sorry, I didn‘t use the prompt at all in this one, but it’s going slower than I thought it would. I decided to go ahead and post since it’s so long. This passage is set in the same world as the previous one that I shared.

it’s so sloppy :he

“Will you quit following me?”
Asili wheeled around, glaring furiously at the thing that had been incessantly stalking her for the last hour. She didn’t know what it was, but she was confident that it was some kind of Aetherling, based on its eyes. All eight of them, beady and black. She had been wandering, somewhat aimlessly, in the woods, looking for some sign of civilization. Caliph and Yugo had apparently abandoned her, or at least disappeared, and even Chicxulub was beyond her mental reach. She was completely on her own. As if that wasn’t bad enough, now she was being stalked by some strange Aetherling (though she had to admit, it didn’t look all that dangerous).

In response to her inquiry, the creature cocked its head, curious. The gesture struck Asili as being oddly familiar, and a strange idea occurred to her.
“Did he put you up to this?” She snapped.
Yugo, that is. Technically, she didn’t have proof that he could communicate with the Aetherlings; really, she didn’t have proof that he wasn’t just a regular human at all. Still, she had her suspicions, and she was sure that she was onto something. It was all over her head, and she found herself again wishing she was back on the farm.

Of course, the Aetherling didn’t answer any of her questions. It peered at her for a moment before walking past her into the undergrowth. Just before it vanished out of sight, it paused, glancing back towards her. Blinking in surprise, she realized. It wants me to follow. It’s leading me somewhere.
For a moment, she considered walking in the opposite direction out of stubbornness. If this really was Yugo’s doing, she was sick and tired of dealing with his schemes. If it wasn’t him, then it still wasn’t safe to follow some random Aetherling into the woods. Still, she was all-to-aware of the waning light, golden glow low on the horizon. The forest was getting rapidly darker, and without Chicxulub, she would be terribly exposed at night. Following this creature seemed to be her only hope of finding shelter. With that in mind, she set off after it.

…

Whatever the creature was, it proved to be quite accustomed to traveling in the forest. She had a hard time keeping up with it whilst weaving around and under rhododendron bushes and low-hanging branches. It was almost fully dark by the time the creature stopped, apparently having reached its destination. The nighttime air was a cacophony of sound, insects, frogs, and Aetherlings of all kinds chittering, buzzing, and chirruping back and forth at each other. The air was cool and refreshing, stirred by a faint breeze. Her eyes not quite having adjusted to the dark, it took Asili a moment to process what she was seeing. Was that a…building?

At this point you're just getting my rambling-ness. This is also only mildly edited so ignore any and all mistakes...
“How much did you hear?” Ash narrowed his eyes at the patchy coloured wolf.

She always talked with a mischievous tone to her voice, and now was no different. “Not much, no need to worry.”

The fur along Ash’s neck threaten to stand up. He was so irritable lately.

“Why are you snooping around, Nix?” I said playing the role of Alpha to break them up.

Her mismatched eyes were fascinating close up.

“Because it's what she does best.” Ash muttered.

I turned to look at him. Ever since Glade had returned it was hard for all of us, but he appeared to be taking it the worse. Callalilly had even told me how bitter he has been.

Ignoring him Nix replied, “How else am I supposed to learn about my new pack? There has been very few wolves who have welcomed my mother, brother and I.”

“And there’s good reason for that!” Ash snapped, “Barras, you’d better not trust a word she says. She has probably been spying for Glade.” He turned abruptly and left quickly.

“Ash!” I called trying to get his attention before he was gone. Too late.

I turned back to Nix. “Surely you understand the behaviour of my pack? What you father did to them, to me, to Ash,” I motioned my head in the direction he had left, “will stick with us for a very long time.”

“Barras, I think all can agree that my father was a horrid wolf.” She sounded genuine for once, “But I am not him, nor is my brother. And we all know that none of you hold it against Ash, so why us?” She tipped her head and stared at me with her odd coloured eyes. Then she quickly darted back into the trees she’d come from. Vanishing yet again.
