Dang foxes

My husband and I were both here, and we ran to see what was up but they are fast and clever. We have lost only the bantams to the fox, I believe because, they don't have the agility and speed of our other hens. Her two flock mates were way up in a large tree when we came running. She was not able to climb like they did,, with her short little legs and fluffy feet, but our other hens seem to evade him.
I’m so sorry. My last loss was a silkie who had an injured leg and was an easy target. Being at school and my parents at work I missed being able to save her as I have one other hen. My ISA brown hen, Ivy. Was scratching next to our garage and a fox grabbed her. Mum let our Great Dane and German Shepard X out to chase it. They did and my hen was saved as it dropped her. I was terrified to free range my chickens again. Especially my silkies. My silkies and bantams have there own yard as I have one rooster in there and the others are a different flock with a different rooster. Now days I only free range my Standard size flock and my dogs can go where they please, my silkies and bantams are all in a coop and run. I have not lost any since. Touch wood.
Anyway. Wishing you the best with your flock.
