Yay for Carly. Now alll the girls are laying, that is great Cyn. Adorable chick JJ
JJ love the beard on the baby!
Cynthia...congrats on the pullet becomes hen egg. Yeah Carly.
Aubrey! What color is white d'anver chick? The one that hatched look a lot like lavender (silverish), could also because it have not completely dry yet.
Have a question for all the d'Anvers people.... What is Blue Quail genetically?
Blue quail--- CoCo MlMl Blbl+
Here is an update on the tiny blue d'Anvers baby. It is getting a few colored feathers on the back.
Wondering what type of blue it will be.... yes, it the smallest and it is two weeks older. Don't know yet if it is roo or pullet so it has no name yet.
Looks like it's shoulders are showing some red. Every time that happens to mine they are roo's.
Oh, ok, I thought it had Cream in it (the hens are almost silver)
that's just the blue dilution effect on the basic quail coloration is all
agree with JJ on the blue quail, when they show shoulder color that quick, usually a male.
Do, they are usually white to off yellow when hatched, but do have a blueish tint when wet. Some of mine have dun in their background and can at times make them a slightly smokey grey / white chick...they still end up white though
