d'anver lovers, discuss the breed and post some pics!

Wow chickee, what bad luck. I'm glad no one was hurt, that was a pretty big tree. The drought has stressed so many of the trees here too. My dad has been working all summer cutting up a big oak that came down on his property.

And speaking of your dun cuckoo pullet, do you have any new pics of her. I liked her a lot.

The Ameraucana sisters are doing well after a very broody summer.

Handsome and sweet - the perfect guy!

Wish all D'Anver males were like Spike. He's one of a kind. The way I caught him to get him to go to the new coop was to put scratch in my left hand and hold out my right arm. He flew to me and after he'd eaten some of the scratch, I gently scooped him up. Aubrey, on the other hand, was not so easy, LOL.

My old hens acting lost in their "new" coop.

Oh, no, chickee!! Nothing ever goes as planned, does it? Now you have to rush and have all this other work to do as well. So sorry!
Thanks! Could have been worse. Just glad no chickens were hurt!! But what a mess to clean up!!!

The bad news is, the tree next to it now has stress cracks and some of the limbs are dying! It will land right on top of my main chicken house if it comes down! We are desperately trying to get the new house done enough to get the chickens moved in before that tree comes down!!
They just got moved today, finally. The cover isn't pretty but I told DH to "MacGuyer" it and get it done.

Oh so cute! Bet they are loving their new house!

Lower right corner would be Spike, the sweetest D'anver rooster I've ever had.
Ooooh! I LOVE him! Hope my MF boys turn out as nice!

I like those open nesting boxes! I just might do some like that!
Chickee, I would love to see a pic of your cuckoo pullet! When do the roos turn evil? My little guy is 3 months old and getting a little spunky, but nothing we can't handle.
Most of my d'Anver roosters attack me except for my sweet porcelain boy.

Here is a picture of my dun cuckoo hen. She is a riot! So cute and funny! Love her personality!
