Thanks! They are disgustingly cute and tiny little beggars for cheese.

Would you happen to know genetics behind why one of them has kind of a lemon yellow tint along the chest? She/he has also a more yellowy beak and feet but the same beetle black eyes. Quite a lovely pastel. I don't know if it will remain in adult plumage. I thought lavender was pretty straightforward, but maybe not!

I don't know. I've never seen yellow in my porcelains that I can recall. Hopefully someone can answer that for you.

Chickies are a couple weeks old now and growing fast. One (possibly even two

) is already starting to develop a bumply comb, though I don't know if both girls and guys can develop it early.

Some of my girls have pinked up early. So, I wouldn't let it worry you.

Watch for the feathers that only roosters get... Saddle and hackle come in first.

I dont think there are shows near me?? there is a town fair this fall but nobody would have a clue

Ooh, are there easy to tell disqualifications for this breed? One of the chicks is definitely a rooster, so we have to find a new home for him soon, but it'd be great if he could be used for 4-H or something.

The hen dosent look too bad She could do well in a local show etc. The roosters neck is a little dark but other than that he looks good He would also do well in a local show
